2. AMAZON PRIME
I have been shopping on Amazon for years and when Prime first came out I thought they were insane. Who in their right mind was going to pay $99 a year for unlimited delivery? I fought it and just this past December, right before Christmas, I signed up for a free 30 day trial. I was going to buy a lot of gifts and I wanted them shipped for free! Once I calculated how much I would have spent in shipping in December alone, I saw how Amazon Prime honestly paid for itself – and I still had 11 months of free shipping left!! Not only that, there are so many other benefits. First, you get your item in one or two days if it is a Prime item, which most items are. Do you know how great it is to run out of something I need and know that it will be waiting on my doorstep within 24-48 hours? I’m a busy mom, as a lot of you are, and not having to go to the store with my precocious four year old is WONDERFUL. Second, you get to check out a Kindle book once a month free from the Amazon library. That alone would cover the cost if you bought one bestseller a month. I love this option because I don’t have a lot of time to read – even though I LOVE my Kindle Fire – and this way it forces me to make time for myself and enjoy a good book once a month – that I don’t have to pay for. Third, you get over 40,000 movies free to watch, anytime, on many devices. And cartoons. Yes, moms, a huge selection of cartoons to occupy our little beasts. And they change for the seasons, which is also wonderful.

3. AMAZON MOM
It happens…you buy something and for some reason you need to return it. Amazon is wonderful for returns. Read their return policy for the specific item you purchase, but generally, they have a 30 day no questions asked return policy. You can print the return label from home and even have a delivery service pick it up at your door! If the item arrives damaged, they usually will not even charge you to ship it back to them! Lost the receipt – it’s okay, they keep a record of all your purchases under the My Account tab. Receive the item as a gift? Provide information about the person who bought it for you and they can usually look it up! I have only had to return 3 things out of the hundreds of items I purchased. Two were because I ordered the wrong items. The 3rd was a defect in my new Kindle Fire. It would not hold a charge! I called Amazon and spoke to a customer service representative and not only did I receive excellent service but they acknowledged the fact that the charger sent with the Kindle was defective, added an upgraded charger to my cart and put in a code to make it free! I was up and reading again in 2 days and once again blown away by Amazon.
6. AMAZON WAREHOUSE
Are you one of those people that goes to the back of the store to find the bins with the markdowns? I am. That’s why I love the Amazon Warehouse. These items are usually in a box which has a ding or dent or they are a return. Amazon takes deep discounts off of these items and every item I have purchased has been as described. A perfect example is the Lorex Wireless Home Monitor we bought to keep an eye on Gavin when he was in his playroom or sleeping. Normally it was $249. We found it at the Amazon Warehouse for only…are you ready for this….$64!! That’s roughly a 74% savings because the box had a little dent in it. With that savings we had enough money to buy the add-on camera to monitor outside our home….regular price $149….our price $70!
